2020 Milk Calendar Dinner
The Dairy Farmers of Ontario has partnered with Canadian chefs to share their love of Ontario dairy with their annual Milk Calendar. The 2020 Milk Calendar features recipes from notable Canadian culinary professionals that will inspire home cooks to use some of the awesome local dairy products found here in Ontario. To celebrate the launch of this year's calendar, a small group of us were treated to an exclusive dairy themed menu by Chef Vikram Vij and premium selection of Ontario cheeses from Afrim Pristine, Maitre fromager for Cheese Boutique. We were served 5 courses, a dessert, and a ton of unique cheeses throughout the meal. The pumpkin soup served in a hollowed out mini Ontario pumpkin looked as impressive as it tasted with a 3 year aged Mountainoak gouda crisp on top of each pumpkin bowl. Our favourite dish was the wine marinated lamb popsicles with fenugreek cream curry and loved that we finished the meal off with a slice of Bel Haven Triple Creme Brie Cheese that was topped with freshly shaved black truffle.
